Evaluating Materials on the Web :-)

This week we are discussing about how to evaluate the correct sources when doing our assignment . The most important things is all the sources are trustworthy and excellent .
Academic writing need us to find the sources that have 3 characteristics ,that are ; valid ,reliable and credible ...

The main question is , what to observe when finding the
sources?
Firstly, look at the URL of the webpage.
- we must ensure the web consist of correct URL for example ;
   .gov,.edu, .ac, .com, .org

Next, look carefully at the content.
- look at the author ! That's more important . we must make sure that the author is really expert on the field that we are looking for .
- besides that, make sure the author is affiliated by the company .
- we can also check on Google for more imformation regarding the author .

The third things that we need to observe is the currency of the web written.
- ensure that the date is updated to the current one.
- it is important to confirm the copyright of the webpage ,always choose the original webpage ,without any plagiarism !

Plagiarizing ? Don't Let It Happen to You!

there are many types of plagiarism that may be done by us . sometimes we not realize that we are ACCIDENTALLY do the plagiarism.
Therefore, i would like to give explanation more regarding the term 'plagiarism by accident?'
As for the definition of and categories of plagiarism, according to Fraud,it mean turning someone else's writing as your own. Accident plagiarism mean ,fails to distinguish quote from paraphrase and fail to cite the documents properly. sometime it could be also, there are sloppy citation and poor integration of sources,besides being ignorance the rules of citation.
Top 3 of common causes of plagiarism, that are ; poor time management, being ignorance and also be the sloopy note taking.
These are some tips to avoid accidentally plagiarism:
1) improve your research methods
2) Be careful to distinguish your words from someone else
3) Double-check your citations and documentation
4)Consult a writing and book for update citation protocol for the documentation style you are using.

 Next! How to protect yourself from accusations of plagiarism??
first thing , you must keep all the drafts. Make photocopies of all sources.
You can also print out web-pages and make sure to keep all the hand-written research notes.
Besides that, keep all the materials of the research until you receive the grade ! :)

When we conduct the research , all the steps must be taken to ensure that we are not making accident plagiarism. the key point to avoid all of these is RESPECT ! respect other people works , in order to gain respect for our work also.

HAHA ! this is not my first entry. this is because this is not my first blog . i had ever doing this, many yearsssss before. at that time i felt that my blog was very bored and i had nothing to share. But , at this time I need to RE do this blog because of my English lecturer asks us to do. hihihi. it maybe will be include as marks of part of the assignment but i really enjoy doing this.
